I have about 4.4 pounds of silver coins I have collected over the years. I don't think there are any key dates or anything spectacular in them. I would like to sell them for melt value. Here is what I have. 184 silver dimes, 68 silver halves, 132 quarters and 1 silver dollar. Thanks so much in advance. I also have error currency and coins but not many. I was a teller for about 13 years and this is stuff I have collected over those years. Initial

Welcome to Coin Community, honeywah. Please understand that, by our rules, you are not permitted to sell coins here before you've reached the 250-post level and 90 days' membership. With that said, I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt and ask the community to reply with suggestions as to the best way you can liquidate these coins.

You can unload them on ebay quickly and easily. If you have any nice walking liberty halfs or Mercury dimes, you should post them here and get some feedback on value.

If you have no interest in coins and are just looking to dump them, a local coin show might be a good place for you to try, depending of course on where you live. Certainly you can sell them on ebay, but then there are the fees, etc. You can also take them to a local coin shop. You should be hearing prices around 20.00 for each face dollar. That number is very approximate, but just to be sure you know if someone offers you 10.00 per face your being fleeced.

I was interested for a while and collected anything that looked off or was silver while I was working. I have a few I have sent to be slabbed but honestly have lost interest. I have a lot that I just collected because I "thought" they might be errors or just because they grabbed my attention for one reason or another.

Since you were a bank teller, you should stick around and chat with us give some info and input into what you had seen and collected over the years, and in no time you will be up to your 250 posts. And.. Welcome to the Forum..

Thanks SHAFTA9a. I have found a few interesting things.... A trick nickel that looks real and squirts water and I think a quarter that is one of those magician quarters that will make you think you can pass a cigarette through it.

If you want to move them fast just put them together in lots and throw them on ebay. You could do auctions or BIN listings for melt and they should go quick. Just dont make the lots to big or youll limit your potential buyers

Just keep in mind you'll be paying about 12 percent between ebay and paypal fees.

Yes - ebay it and let the bids fly. Quote: A trick nickel that looks real and squirts water Wow - this brings back memories! I bought one of these back in the early 70s, but the front side is covered with a metal diaphragm that you squeeze to fill/eject the water. I have not thought of it in years. Or... be patient, keep chatting with us for a few weeks, and eliminate the ebay fees by selling it on here for face value.
