What a beauty! Congratulations for the excellent grade result. Great photos, too! that is what a red-brown large cent should look like (or maybe it's a red-red-brown!).

Congratulations on a great coin and great photography too. It's had an easy life. I wonder where it's been for the last 159 years.

WindyCity - Very nice! Did you pick it up raw? What grade was it assigned if you did? I don't see so many older copper this nice, much anymore. You can still find these at some of the bigger shows, but never see them at the small local shows like we did in the 80's and 90's, one or two would come through (well maybe not this nice, but RB in 64 or 65) every couple of months. Now it seems like they've all been put away, I've only seen two offered at local shows the past 4 years, and they were both from a big time copper dealer near by me, CVM http://www.earlycents.com he has some similar stuff, I just can't afford any of it. Probably the tiny spot on the chin and the scuff in the field in front of Liberty's face is all that kept this coin from a solid 66 grade. I'm happy to see they + this one, it deserves it! Thanks for sharing your coin with us.
