Hi All,

I've been trying to complete set's of different denominations for my son, and while going through Kennedy halves; I found one that doesn't look right. The edge of it isn't reeded like the rest of them; but it's the only 1974 I've found so far. Does this make it damaged? Should I just roll it up and bring it back to the bank and try for a better conditioned one?

Hopefully those pictures will help. I appreciate anything you guys might suggest; I just don't want to be the guy who gives the bank something special for nothing; would much rather have my boys appreciate it.

It does seem a little thicker, but I dont know how to measure that, and I don't have a scale unfortunately.
Does a Dryer Coin mean what it sounds like?

I roll search Kennedys and go through quite a bi just like this. This smooth edge is not all that uncommon and normally is just wear on the coin.

What part of the country are you from ?
I'm from Mass. and up until just a a few years or so ago
the half was a common slot machine denomination at two of
the casinos down in CT. Most of the half's that I had found in rolls
were like this one. Now the slot machines take a card and not half's anymore so I am finding fewer. Like mentioned, most likely a slot worn half.
Rest in Peace
