Right now I'm 17. I'm also in Canada. in the past the oldest Canada coin iv ever found was a 1932 penny. way less older nickels but still like 40`s and 50`s. silver dimes are now pretty rare and silver quarters use to happen a good couple times a year for me but now not at all.

I got a merc in change last month from a hardware store, that made my day. Other then that basically what I find today, wheats and very rarely silver dimes. I remember when I was a kid I found a War Nickel, I knew it was different by the mintmark but I spent it anyways :P

Born in 1946. Roll searching completed my Franklin half and Washington quarter sets and all but the two big Wheaties. Lots of Mercs, SLQs and WLHs. Occasional Barber coinage and IHCs. I have to laugh when I think of how much silver I took back to the bank to get more rolls to search.

Pounds and pence. Nothing old in circulation in the UK due to decimalization in the early 1970s - switched from the good old stuff to base 100.

Just about everything was in circulation when I was a kid, silver dimes, quarters and halves were easily found and wheaties by the handful were found in rolls.

When I was a kid all there was for change were Silver coinage. Lots of Silver Dollars too. Sitting Liberty coins were common, so were Indian Head cents. My Dad had a gas station and it was always fun to see people try to use Large Cents in one of his vending machines. He had a gum ball and penut type that used pennies. When I was a kid there were no such things as Roosevelt dimes, Kennedy halves and hardly ever seen a Jefferson nickel since they just came out. Shield nickels were common too.
If I only knew then what I know now.
I've always wondered how many 1916D Mercury dimes passed through my hands then.

I don't remember getting anything special in change as a kid. All I remember is being frustrated that I could never find a quarter older than 1965 and at the time did not know why.

a little more than a year ago when I was still in high school doing running start at a community college, I received some change at a local bank near my college and found a 1890 Indian Head penny, my first one ever. I ran around the house screaming like a lil child, I'm rich mom!, I'm richhh! lol
