Personally I'm not a collector of old forign coins like this... I would suggest asking a dealer what they think

Insightful input...
Rooney, it seems whatever photos you linked have disappeared... can you reupload?

Thanks John, it was the diameter (which seemed to large) that had me puzzled.

There is absolutely nothing "not genuine" about it...
Riddle me this: If you have such little familiarity with this type (or really, what genuine surfaces should look like in general - this piece is the definition of "even, honest wear"), why would you be so quick to condemn this one based on one tidbit of info likely gleaned from an intro-level information source?

Its my first and only one - came as part of job lot - I do not collect real - I had no problem with the surface - I do not have any books on real - I will now sell it with the knowledge that it is a real real - if it wasn't it would of gone with the rest of the fakety fakes which I am learning from.
Thank you for your answers.
Oh and condescending comments do not help anybody

Nice 1 real, no problems and nice even wear. Certainly a keeper. Perhaps it will light a spark in you to become obsessed with collecting Spanish Colonial coins.

More a point for general consumption... While there's nothing about this one that would suggest it's anything other than a normal circulated (genuine) piece, you were leaning fake based on a generalized reference to the coin's specs. That can be a bad habit for a collector, depending on how serious you want to be with it - a given reference could simply be wrong, there may be caveats, etc... could cause one to pass up something perfectly legitimate or, conversely, semi-blindly accept something that's not.
FYI, diameter tended to vary from mint to mint on all of the Colonial reales denominations... even within the same mint over periods of time.
