VF20 not sure what I'd pay, I would probably pass on it, and wait for a better looking example.

Guy wants $300 for it saying he paid close to 2x that at an auction 5 months ago. I told him about the listing above (nicer example) closing at $263. I offered $225 which I felt was generous. He declined.

with VT. There's plenty of unmolested examples out there in this condition.

Quote: Guy wants $300 for it saying he paid close to 2x that at an auction 5 months ago. He got taken to the cleaners, then. He paid nice XF money for a cleaned VF; a righteous VF25 in a PCGS slab is a $300 coin, not this one.

Yeah I told the guy "sorry that you paid too much but I only want to pay you fair value for the coin." I originally offered him $200 but pushed it to $225 because I like the blast white. I am building a 38-coin display of all the Morgan and Peace dollars, by year. My 1895 shown here ( https://goccf.com/t/152811) is the weakest coin in the display and I would like to have a nicer copy. I am having a custom plexiglass frame cut and I can't wait to post a pic of it when it's complete.

That's not "blast white", though (it's a term only usable with Mint State coins, anyway) - it's "cleaned white." You can still see the crud left inside the lettering that the (harsh) cleaning didn't reach. There's not a thing original about this one.
