To me, the toning doesn't look natural.
You don't have enough yet to sell the coin here, so I would refrain from posting a selling price.

As I was, thanks for correcting me. Won't be selling it on here. It's already been graded by PCGS so the point is moot on rather natural or not.

PCGS and NGC have been known to put AT Morgans in their holders. The toning looks too blotchy to be natural again, just my opinion.

Not my cup of tea, but if you're happy that's all that matters.

Toning looks kinda funky to me, too. But if you like it that's all that matters.

WELL, I was thinking it wasn't because it is graded and has a CAC sticker. So that must mean something? And not a single person has guessed the grade. lol I personally cant see somebody taking the gamble to tone this.

Coin is definitely artificially toned but amazing nonetheless!

I agree and think that the toning is natural. It is exquisite toning for sure! Since nobody has actually tried to guess the grade, I will say MS 65 CAC, could be clear enough to be 66 though. Superb Morgan!

Quote: No. It's not artificial. I bow to you judgment on this but to me it is totally weird that the reverse is super toned up and the obverse is just normal. All the "Toned" coins I have come across are toned on both sides, including the rim. can you explain your reasoning as to why this isn't AT?

I call these "taco bell napkin toning", where it sat on some acidic paper for a while. Technically they will be call NT, as compared to baked or fried AT, and often bring huge price premiums.. It's just a matter of preference, I prefer the old school album rim toning myself. It gets controversial when you see recent silver eagles ( ASE) that look like this graded by the top tier TPG's, as in how is this possible? Not trying to reflect anything on the OP question which looks MS65-ish on the obverse but it's hard to grade a toned side like this from a pic. JMHO

I've seen some Morgans toned like this, fire opal looking, real to me as well, possibly from contact with a velvet or similar cloth over years and years. This would bring one heck of a premium in a large auction I'd bet.
Grade? MS67 maybe a MS66+ Looks like a monster toner!

MS66*.
Edited to add: I'm not a fond of such threads titles, no matter which coin it is.
