I got if for around "63" money with every intention of cracking it out and sending it in.
Predictions?
I do not have it yet, I bought it off of the photos below.
When I get it I will take better (maybe) photos.
This is not going to end well, I just know it . . . .
I (personally) do not feel that it looks cleaned. It looks right to me.
I am a little worried about the cheek.
I will keep the post running for the duration.
Great fun eh?

If there is lots of underlying luster, you may have hit a homerun.
Rest in Peace

Best of luck. Judging by the photo, the seller is not the guy in his basement.

Based on the photos I'd give it no more than a 63 grade. That's probably why the Seller sold it to you for 63 money.

Buying these kind of coins is risky. Photo's can be misleading. Usually they are meant to be. Hope it pays off for you.

Funny how the obverse is lit from the right . . . . and the reverse is lit from the left.
Eyes wide open, I know I am setting myself up.
Will have in hand before the week is out (maybe) and post some better shots win or lose
If you look up "63 money" you will understand that I will not be out so much that it will hurt too bad. If I were playing for higher stakes I would not be so willing to share with you good people.
So this one is "just right" to have some fun with.

The reverse looks great, however the photo of the obverse seems to be hiding something, possibly friction on the high points.

Oboy ...actually the think the photos do the coin no justice...but I do agree with Westernsky that the coin would be at Least MS63 or even better with PCGS grading. Myself I think the coin will be at least MS66 or better...I just have that feeling Jon. I hope that it comes true for you cause "Nothing Beats a TRY but a Failure"!

I'm cautiously optimistic for you. Of course, an NNC slab requires immediate mistrust, but this one seems promising. Look at the date area very closely when you get it.

I had not even considered counterfeit. Who would counterfeit a 35-S Washington?
Hmmmm . . . . .
I knew this would be fun!!

It's tough for me to comment based on the photos. Maybe give us a couple more of that obverse? Here's a similar looking example I just picked up to crack out.

Got it today!
I have cartwheel and luster, there is good luster on the ear curl.
I can't say it looks great, but I am cautiously optimistic.
Thick, ugly skin. Did I mention ugly? Might have to come off.
I suppose it could have been polished (jewelers cloth perhaps) and retoned.
Breast feathers have good detail though. The reverse is actually quite nice.
Not too many marks. No hairlines.
I am still undecided. Something about the obverse says high AU and polished.
But the reverse says MS. At least to me.
OK, I am pulling those photos down.
Please see post below.

Spent two hours with the lights and camera. Can't get it.
The skin is not allowing me to capture details as I usually can, or maybe I just do not know how to get through.
This is as good as I am able to get.
Thoughts?
I am still cautiously optimistic.

Jon I'm still sticking with MS64-66 looks worth getting it graded. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. I also believe the holder is not doing it justice it appears to have some scratches on the surface.

I still think it's 63. The vertical scratches behind and in front of George don't help the cause for a higher grade. I think it was at one time in an old Whitman Library of Coins album. When the album was broken down and the coins were removed this coin was scratched as the hard plastic slide was pressed up against the coin. That's my guess anyway.

Thanks for the update.
