...a year ago today. I was looking through ebay and found a 2 cent piece that had been thoroughly cleaned. I was able to buy it for $2.50 . I had heard about re-toning coins on window sills and I've done that. It actually works. I had also read comments from JustCarl about burying coins to re-tone em and bought this coin just for that very reason. Carl's pretty sharp and I'm always up for a good experiment. So I buried it January 1st 2013 and am going to dig it up now. Any guesses what it will turn out like ? ...before pics... Oregon coin geek.....*** GO BEAVS ! ! ! ***

I've experimented with burying coins in my backyard. Sometimes I forgot where I put them so I have to get the detector out :p

It will not corrode in only 1 year unless you buried it in some fertilizer. Copper does not rust. Very interested to see how this turns out.

So saying Green rust would be wrong too, if corrosion is a better word than that is my bet... a green lump of muck
