This article just posted at CoinWeek about the Pogue auction catalog. I got my catalog a couple of weeks ago, and I must say, this is hands down the best auction catalog I've ever seen. I don't just mean the coins that are being auction, that's a given. I mean the quality of the way they put the catalog together and amount of depth spent on each coin. In hindsight I could have probably saved the $40 I spent on one of the books. Oh well. Anyway, here's the link to the article http://www.coinweek.com/auctions-ne...nage-part-i/

It is a very good auction catalog, I don't think it is as good as the Missouri Cabinet Collection of Half Cents though, and maybe the 4 sales of Dan Holmes (both Goldberg) and Heritage Walter Husak Large Cent auction catalogs. But the photography is very good, and John Kraljivech did most of the writing, and he knows his stuff besides being an excellent writer.

Since my last post I've added: The International Engraver's Line by Hessler A Register of Liberty Seated half dollar Varieties Volume 3 New Orleans 1840-O to 1853-O no arrows A Register of Liberty Seated half dollar Varieties Volume 4 New Orleans 1853-O with arrows to 1861-O From Crime to Punishment: Counterfeit and Debased Currencies in Colonial and Pre-Federal America. I spied a used copy on Amazon. It has a small tear in the dust jacket---considering a new copy of this book costs $145 I'm glad to have acquired it for what I consider a bargain. Wyoming Trade Tokens by Bowker Walter Breen's Encyclopedia of US Half Cents 1793-1857 westcoin hooked me up with:A preliminary copy of the Twin Leaf Collection of Large Cent auction catalog and a mail in to get a copy of the final catalog with pictures. I received the color catalog this weekend. A copy of the 2015 EAC Convention sale catalog.

I found a copy of the new Bowers Series #18 on Mercury dimes, Standing Liberty quarters and Liberty Walking halves on Amazon priced at $15 + shipping due to minor problems. Another book I found on there was Dan Owens's California Coiners and Assayers which I picked up for under $10. While not a numismatic book, I purchased a copy of Earle42's insulator book for my personal library. -MV

Nice pick-up's Bryan. I almost picked up Danruethers Gold book, I met him at the EAC convention and had dinner with him one night, super nice guy, and very knowledgeable. I thought about getting the Miller book you linked me to, at the fair price.
I've picked up so many books I can't even begin to list them. More too later this month hopefully.

Can you really have to many books when collecting? I don't think you can

Only if the books take up space needed for the coins. The solution of course is more space.

Newest additions I can think of right of the top of my head; Very rare copy of a hardbound Stack's Numismatic Values of US coins, tokens, patterns, and paper money, t would appear that this work was published to compete with Wayte Raymond's Standard Catalogue of United States coins but, for whatever reasons, only two hardbound editions were issued. Hathaway & Bowers Rare Coin list (Rare Coin Review #10) quite tough to find. Dennis Mendelson Library Auction in deluxe hard bound. JRCS Journals from Vol1.1 through Vol.9 Durst U.S. Auction catalogs The Levit "Confederate" Cent - great history book on this unusual coin pattern. A few more Heritage and Bowers auction catalogs missing from my library. Close to completing my set of Money Tree numismatic literature auction catalogs. Bowers "Eliasberg King of Coins" biography. David Akers Gold Patterns book.
