I haven't taken this out of the box that it is in to take a picture of the back. Just curious what you think of the front and should I take it out and take a picture? Front looks really nice.

If I owned that coin I would take it out and put it in my silver dollar album. You might choose to leave it in the nice case it came in.

Great coin... you can take it out very easily with out damaging it... just remove the black holder from the red felt.. then turn it upside down.. coin will fall into your hand

This is a specimen strike. Your coin is beautiful and I would agree with ag on how to get it out, put this in a flip as carefully as possible without touching it.

Nice coin! The 1972 specimen is 50% silver. I went with a silver dollar sized capsule for mine. Protects the coin from fingerprints and other disasters.

Thanks, what is a specimen strike, looked it up on google, said it's better than a business strike but not up to proof standards?

It's all in how the coin is struck to show off the details...
So just as your definition from google... business strike is standard for all circulated coinage... Proof are for collector sets (which please correct me if I'm wrong but have actually had 2-3 strikes to highlight the details)
So a spec strike the details are more prevalant than business but not as much as proof... clear as mud?

1972 is a special year because all other years the silver dollar have a commemorate subject, only 1972 has voyager pattern.

It stands for International Coin certification Service, its a Canadian company that authenticates and grades your coins and than seals them in a plastic flip with the coins info such as grade, date, denomination and country. There's also a comment section that states any variety, cleaning etc.

Specimen strike 1937-1995 is a brilliant relief against a brilliant background struck.using specially prepared dies and blanks with higher pressures and slower moving presses.
