This should be interesting to watch. TCNC is selling (with a $5 opening bid) one of only 4 2005 P non-magnetic cents. Care to guess what it will sell for?

I guess I should make my own guess. I think it goes for a premium over relatively recent sales of the 2006P non mag at levels approaching $3000. I will guess $6200. Hard to say though. The price of this will very much depend on how aggressive the underbidder is willing to be. With only 4 out there it could get kind of silly. There is one on ebay for US$25k, so it is obviously worth less than that.

I know of someone that has 2 of them but they are not graded. I wonder when they say only 4 exist that means that 4 have ever been graded

I assume that NCLT is ALWAYS going to have a severe discount to a business strike.
114,650 2005P uncirculated sets were made. What percentage have even been checked?

The variety has been known for several years. I understand that the original discoverer of the variety checked a very very large number before announcing the find. There are no doubt more to be found, but I am pretty sure that this is a very scarce coin. It is not known outside of the PL sets so far so the only way to get it is NBU. Only four have been graded so far. There may be more. Only three have aver appeared on sale as far as I know. This one, the one now on ebay, and one that appeared on ebay about 2 years ago.

There have been three for sale on ebay! I was sniped by someone here on this forum for one and was the under bidder for the second and refuse to bid on the current one.

Well, if four have been graded then I am betting that either this one or the one now on ebay was one of the two earlier sales. Darryldarryl, when did the second one show up on ebay. I never saw that one.

I got mine ICCS graded in the fall of last year, I'm not sure if ICCS has published the new population report but I believe mine could have been the 5th(I could be wrong). I've been debating about selling it but just haven't needed the cash, and I've had a hard time putting a value on it since they come to auction so rarely. @ darryldarryl, I still haven't forgot about you buddy, but keep holding out for that NBU 67

Fred ink, if you still have your ms 66, the one on ebay is ms66 and the TCNC sale is a 66 that could be three ms67's and three ms66's certified to date.

@ Bm0ney - I still got it, so that sounds correct to me.
