Hello all. I found this little gem on the bay the other night just surfing, and I just had to have it. It is some sort of promotional coin bank used in 1971 at the Pennsville National Bank in New Jersey to promote the newly released Eisenhower dollar. Well, at least that's my theory. I'm sure others on CCF have seen this before. Am I right about its origin?

The entire piece is made out of metal (very sturdy), and the silver paint on the coin is in really good condition- still nice and clean. It really shines as you can see in the photos below. I'm really lovin' this thing.

That's pretty neat.

I've seen Lincoln Cent banks but never an Ike.

Is there a manufacturer's mark on it anywhere? Is it about 7 inches tall?

I ask because I am curious if there are nickel, dime and quarter banks to be found....

It would be fun to have them all.

Nice, Buddy. I'll have a look at it. I wonder if this was a series of banks which included all the denominations. This IKE bank measures 5 inches in height and 4.25 inches across, and there is no maker's mark that I can see. I'm more curious now.

I saw that a Kennedy half dollar bank like this Ike was made by Vacumet Finishing Inc., St. Clair, Michigan. Interesting. . . .
