Hi, I don't really know much about coins. I found a 1875 CC Twenty Cent Piece coin in a collection that I inherited. Can anyone tell me anything about it. How much is it worth? Thanks! Tami redacted for member's protection

Pictures would be needed, to determine the proper grade of the coin, before a value could be properly estimated.

to the CCF, we'd would be happy to help with photos, get as close as you can filling the whole camera frame, try and shoot the entire front and back (obverse and reverse) sides, from directly over head with little to no angle shooting. Get as much light as possible on the coin without causing it to glare badly. For some tips on grading the condition of your ¢.20 piece you could try and match it up to one on this coin by photo. http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#/Twenty/GradesThen once the grade is determined you should be able to match up the price to the grade here: http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/price...esfull.shtmlAs you can see there is a very large price spread from $300 to $80,000 of course these are selling prices (retail) for a dealer, any cleaning or damage like scratches or holes will make the value fall in half or more. Glad to have you here hope to see some photos of your new find soon.

$250+ depending on the grade. Pictures are needed as said above. If you have any other questions about any other coins you inherited, you can post them on this forum, the people here are great and will give you the information you need! Mark

Looks like a VG10 (maybe could go Fine). But, I love the fact that it looks completely original and unmessed with! Congrats!

How much do you think it would be worth and how would I sell it?

I'd say a around $400, I also agree with it being in VG10. That is a heck of a coin, love that CC mintmark!

How would I go about selling it?

If I were to sell it, the first thing I would do is to get it certified by either PCGS or NGC. A local coin dealer should be able to submit it for you. There are various auction sites that you can sell it through. ebay is one, but if you don't have an established account with a lot of positive feedback bidders may shy away. Great Collections is a good place to sell it through, and they will also submit it to PCGS for you. This is the rarest 20 cent piece and I would think it should bring around $500 or so. It looks to be in nice original condition. DO NOT CLEAN IT!
