Any opinions on this one I just picked up? I know it's not pretty, but it's my first CC coin so I'm happy with it. Should I give it an acetone bath or let it be? Thanks in advance

I grade EF-40. No need for an acetone bath, leave it as it is.

I like it at XF40 (45 is not out of the question, though), and would also leave it alone.

Acetone won't help this patina; best to let it be. For anyone playing along, I'm sticking my neck out and calling this VAM-2B. If I'm wrong, tell me why and if I'm right tell me how I did it.

Ohhh... ... pick me, pick me, pick me SD

-I'm going with the faint shadow of the wheat leaf die chip paired with a long nock?

Or if it was a play on words I'd say the crack at neck v?

So I understand the whole variety thing somewhat but what exactly does it mean for the coin? Does it add value or is it just cool that it is a variety?

Yeah, I topped out at 35 myself when I looked at it earlier today and...no acetone required unless there is some green goo that we're not seeing in your photos.

VF25

Leave that patina. Remove it and you'll basically ruin the coin.

No, not every single morgan is a VAM. There are normal dies.
