I just got my other $1000....in a bag. I might have to pay for the teller's hernia operation :-)
Anyway, I will get to it either late tonight or tomorrow......did not see any frankies or silver kennedys but I do see a 1943 walker, so there is at least 1 silver in there.

I must say I do seem to get a lot of NIFC but I usually don't keep them or else I would end up with boxes and boxes of them. And those looking for Ike dollars banks DO have them in the main cash vaults armored cars pick up from. About a month ago I got rid of a bag of them ($500) and they took it. I believe they just sit in the vault and are not used UNLESS a bank ask for IKES otherwise they will send out the small dollar coins. The reason I know this is because I work at a bank. I also have been the merchant/vault teller for many years. But one of the great things I love about my job is roll searching at the bank. For all the merchants that need coin I hand out plastic clear rolls so if there is any silver I will pluck out the silver out of the roll and replace it with a clad coin. And I have been doing this daily for the past 5 years and daily go through $1500 worth of quarters and dimes. For the nickels I can sometimes find the War Nickels due to the tone/color looks different on the side of the plastic rolls and the pennies I just look on the top and bottom of the rolls for wheat pennies and if a box has a lot of them showing up I will open the rolls and rewrap them. When customers brought in rolled coin I would go through those as well between helping customers. But I actualy go to a different branch for my half dollars, I don't do them at my branch. |

Picked up 140.00 in Customer rolls in another bank today and found 2 64's, first of those I've seen in a while!  |

Also forgot to mention that all the tellers know I collect so they give me all their rolls from customers and other goodies they find. :)

Big newbie question here, what is NIFC stand for? how do you spot them in a roll?  |

In Kennedy halves that would be 1970,1987 & 2002-current. Also Proof issues (S mint) coins are also found in rolls and are also NIFC. |

I searched through 2 rolls today - both in white with mustard yellow rolls (don't know where they are from). One had a 63D Franklin in it. The other is new 1998p coins. I have had many rolls of uncirculated 1998P - no idea why there are so many of these floating around.

Box #3 for the week and found a 66, 67, and a 68. 2 of the 3 silvers were in the same roll along with a 1922 One Penny coin from Great Britian  |

Went through 2 boxes last night and found 3 40% and 1 1964. Slow searching, but always better than getting skunked!

this is my 3rd day or so with hunting for JFK's. I thought I was ambitious, going out and getting $10-$20's worth - but I see now that $1000 is the norm for some.
Anyway, yesterday I went out to get 2 rolls from the local credit union and guess what.. 2x%40's! a '66 and a '68-D. I was thrilled! on just my 3rd day and 3rd roll! what are the odds. Anyway, I have a good feeling about this credit union. I had gone to CHASE bank the day before and not only did I get a cranky woman, she rolled them in fron of me. I know its something small to complain about, but I enjoy getting the rolls from the vault where you know they've been sitting for more than 5 minutes.
I did have a great conversation with the credit union. She even told me that I was the first person to come in asking for halves! I might have struck "gold", no pun intended.
Headed back for 2 more rolls this morning after I get off work.

I got 8 of the 10 nifc dates from 02-06 just thsi week. no big score but haivng a blast...I am deciding whether or not to try and put together a full set of kennedys from circ, just does not seem that difficult and many dates are easy to find in unc.
