Congrats chuckster - I guess you aren't on sabbatical from halves like me! I'm going to put some serious work into nickels for a while.

Just got 2 boxes yesterday. The date on the box is 06/10/2010, so I'm not expecting much in them. Opened the boxes and didn't see any Franklins on the ends, but HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL. I'll see what the weekend brings & post an update.

@ Eddiespin : Thank you for the encouragement. The perserverance paid off big today. Went to make my office deposit today and asked the teller if she had any halves. She replied that she had two. She placed them on the counter with a beautiful 44 face up. Beneath that was a 65 Kennedy.
I also bought two rolls of dimes from her - customer wrapped. 8 Mercuries and a 63 Roosevelt.
Unbelievable how one's luck can turn. $1000 of skunks yesterday, and plenty of winners today.

I went to the gas station and filled my truck up with gas. I paid with 4 rolls of half dollars and the guy behind the desk got all mad at me. He had to call the manager over and ask if we take them. I quickly jumped into the convo. and said it's real American money and they got to take it or I'll never buy gas from them. The guy took the rolls for my payment. I'm gunna get the final laugh because I'm gunna top of the wife's car with halfs tomorrow!

Hello group, I'm brand new to the forum (but not new to collecting---I've got complete sets of Peace dollars, Barber halves, Walkers, Franklins, Kennedys, Barber quarters, Washington quarters, Mercurys and Roosie dimes). I just started roll searching KHD's about 8 weeks ago. I search 5 boxes a week (5000 coins) and wanted to post my findings to date and begin posting weekly results. I search for varieties and errors in addition to silver, by the way. In total, I've found (out of about 45,000 coins): 3 Frankies 6 90% 148 40% 8 clad proofs 1 1976-S silver proof 65 NIFC's (but no 1987's) No Walkers or Barbers My first 40 boxes in a row contained at least 1 silver coin---an amazing streak. Then last week my 5th box was a shutout, as were this week's first two boxes---so three in row. Then yesterday my 3rd box the first roll had a 40% silver in it and I said to myself, well, good, hopefully it'll have a few more. It turned out to be my best box of all them, eventually yeilding 43 40%ers! I will be searching box 4 or 5 today and will report back the results. I certainly hope that it is a sequential box to #3! I have also found several no "FG" coins (mostly 1972-D's) and several errors and one very scarce 1974-D DDO. I have posted an image of it---it will grade MS+, so it is a very nice find. I'm sorry for the small image---but I have not figured out how to post larger higher resolution images to this forum. The forum is limiting me to 90KB file sizes, so I am having to WAY downsize posted images---is there a workaround for this? The 74-D DDO is really quite stunning, but I'm sure you can hardly see it. I'll be sending it for grading when I get 5 coins put together to send in. By the way, I live in the New Orleans area. Thanks

Just finished Box #2. I found only 1 40% silver half (1969 Kennedy). However, I also found a 1983 with FG on the back and a 1987 with the the ridges on the rim completely smoothed out (casino maybe?). The rim on the 1987 is a bit of a bummer, but I am still keeping. 2 box total of silver - 1 90% (1964 Kennedy) and 3 40%. I am a silver coin collector but new to error coins. Can anyone explain what a "double die reverse" and " DDO" are and how to identify? I inspect the coins as a go through them, but I suspect I am missing some that may be of value.
