Well, I made it thru my first of two boxes today. Found a 1972 with a serious strike-thru error on the reverse - the top of the eagle & shield are virtually obliterated. Also found a really scratched up 1991 S proof. And an outstanding 1988-P probably an MS64. Alas, no 90% or even partial silver tho. Have one more box for tomorrow morning so there is some hope.

Just finished the second batch. Found 3 NIFC's. Also a 1994-P with a divot in the blank below the tail feathers on the reverse. I'll try to get a picture posted to see if anyone can identify it. Other than that found 8 really nice MS quality from 79-90. Then hit a stash of quarters and found a 1964 silver one so it wasn't a complete silver bust.

Nice find on the quarter! I found a "no fg" about a month ago. I went throgh a dry spell of 10k in halfs and no silver. The no fg got me through the bad times.

Found this half - It looks like it could be an error? I took another 1953 Half and it was the same size so what would cause this to happen. It was the only silver in one of my boxes. Tell me what you think - Thanks. I will post an end of July total - I have moved up to about 8 boxes a week now. Spjegues

I don't know what caused that, but you should post pics of this coin on the Variety /Error forum and let the EXPERTS check it out!

Thanks for the advice- have posted it over in the error forum . You search enough half's and you will find some strange things.
On another note I had a teller tell me she was going to start saving the bags for me from the school district that turns in coins .She figures I will be able to find some old coins with kids turning in coins for me. She will be getting a bag of candy from me on Wednesday .

Took a small trip south into Connecticut. Found about 400 dollars worth. Came out pretty decent. 8 90% and 6 40%

Motos, nice little road trip score. Picking have been slim but have put together a roll worth of 40% over the last week. That Ben Frank above looks like someone took a ballpeine hammer and beat down on the edge or something....unusual find.

Looks like someone started to make it into a ring but gave up. Here's an example: http://blog.makezine.com/archive/20..._coin_m.htmlLooks like they got to the point where the rim broadens out but then just smashed it back down on the coin. Poor Ben.

SDcoinguy- It is just sitting in my safe deposit box. My new goal is to get $1000 face of silver by the end of the year. It sure gets old dumping coins . I had to buy a fold up dolley thing since lifting $1500 worth of half really kills me.
