Not everyone is looking for the 40% halves. Same as when I was roll hunting in '79/80....harder to get rid of, also, many hunters are just uneducated.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors...
Roll hunting since '77
Dirt fishing since '72

Got two boxes coming today, fingers crossed. The bank that orders them for me is looking to start ordering me the $1000 bag. It seems from people's postings these are better.

I have also been hitting random banks with mixed success. Some tellers tell me they "take any silver that comes their way" and some tell me that they "have a customer that gets all of their customer rolled halves." I have also been told a few times that I just missed $30-50 in customer rolled halves. I have gotten 3 40% just asking to buy what is in the tray. No big scores yet.

My assistant went to the bank to make a deposit today, and I asked her to get any half dollars they had. She returns with 11.50 in halves. The teller told her that all the loose halves are searched by the tellers, because anything before '64 is silver. Right on top is a '68D.

Also-
I have just been searching for silver, but I see plenty of references to NIFC's. What years are these?

2 boxes searched today. Not all that great. 2 40% Kennedys (both 1968). Also, got 4 NIFC (2004, 2005, 2009 and 2010). The 2005 and 2010 are in great shape.

The bank has two more boxes waiting, maybe they will be better.

Actually, in addition to the 2002 to present mintages, the 2001-P was NIFC as well---for some reason the mint released the 2001 D's into circulation, but not the P's---

Also the 1970 and 1987's weren't issued for circulation either.

Aberrant Pachyderm - if I was your assistant, I would bring you back clad all the time if you know what I mean. Hope your assistant doesn't catch on! ;)

Searched two $1000 bags this week. The first bag had 20 or so 2008's and around 30 2009's. I don't mess around with NIFCs so from my perspective the bag was a skunk. The second was much better, and contained:

113 40% JFKs
3 1964 JFKs
1 1987-S Proof
