Well today was another good day. around 2:30 I decided To hit a few banks and made my way south along the river remembering I never checked the few banks about 7 miles from were I live. First bank the guy told me he just got rid of them BUMMMMMER. Second bank the teller had only one. The third bank one teller had one roll and one louse jfk ok I will take them, the other teller told me that they had about 700.00 worth. I went to the atm and took out 300 dollars and with the 70 dollars I had on me I told the teller I will take 37 rolls and I will come back tomorrow to get the rest when she came back I noticed that the rolls were fed rolls and were opened on one end and about 10 rolls were maked BI and a few had non silver dates and thought to my self that they were searched well I took the non fed rolls any way and found that three of the rolls had all silver and one roll had 2 40%. total out of the 3 rolls were 22 JFK 90% 1 Ben and the rest in 40% and 1 1974 silver but not proof Tomorrow I'm going back and ask them if they have any more non fed rolls. so it was a day

I went down to visit my parent's yesterday, about 40 miles away. I had to stop by the post office and drop off a package. As I was leaving, I decided to stop off at the bank and make a quick deposit as I had a couple of checks in my pocket. While inside, I asked my teller if she happened to have any halves, she told me she had one roll. I'll take it. I forgot about it while at my parent's place as we were having a good-sized get-together. I found the roll today, and this is what was inside. Image: jfkrh.jpg46.36 KB 2-1968, 3-1966, 15-1964 = 100% awesome.

this is the most I've ever recovered from a bank visit, and to have them all in one roll...sweet.

I went to several branches recently. One had $977 in halves, including $940 that was a single deposit. Turns out the $940 was someone's dump, BUT they left 12 NIFC coins and a 74 D DDO for me, so I guess they only wanted the silver. I'll take a 74 D DDO over the silver any day! The other branches had a combined $134, including an original BU 74 and 71D roll and a few silver pieces. Totals from this run: $1111 searched, 16 40% silver, 12 NIFC (01P x 7, 05P x 3, 05D x 2), 1974D DDOCuriously, this year may be the NIFC year for me. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2009 totals Total searched: 2902 coins ($1451) all customer rolled 40% silver: 16 (0.56%) 90% silver: 0 NIFC: 95 (01P- 22, 04P- 11, 04D- 3, 05P- 33, 05D- 16) Proof: 0 Other: 1974D DDO- 2

Norseman012: you didn't really get a 1974 silver Kennedy half, did you? According to my RedBook there ain't no such thing. There were silver-clad Bicentennial coins made in 1976, at San Francisco only. Nod2003, congrats on the 1987-D. That is a super tough coin to find in a roll!

Yes Jaobler I did. It turned out to be silver plated . Who ever did it did a great job of it. I was scratching my head when I came across it. I thought at first it was a mint error of some kind and when I looked at the edge with a 17x loop I seen a hint of copper. Then I remembered sometime hearing about people finding these and telling me that they were plated with silver to fool people. Well I hit about 18 banks today and found a total of 7 40% and 1 Ben a 1960-D. Two of the banks only had two halves one bank handed me the Ben and one clad and the other bank handed me two 40% halves and another bank had three rolls and the rest of the 40% came out of them. I have to go back to another one that said they had two rolls but the teller had just left. Happy Hunting

Well when I turned my rejects back into the bank, the teller asked if I collect the silver ones. I said yes and she traded one of my rejects out for a 1969D.
