SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 05/19/2015 10:20 am PCI has a long and convoluted history as a TPG. They were originally quite good, on a par with any of the competition. The slabs you want - the one brenpickle is describing - have 10-digit serials, green labels (red for Details coins) and are lettered in Futura-style type with perfectly round zeros and O's as in the first image pictured at the k6az link. That PCI might have called this a 64, which is where it belongs. Numerous hints tell me it's a Mint State coin. Report this Post to the Staff

I think she is a solid 63 with a shoot at 64, but their is no spread on this date for those grades to make regrading it worth it. I was wondering when it comes to coins like this that are undergraded by todays standards, how is the best way to sell them. Most dealers I have encountered see the 62 on the slab and offer that for it. Since this is a PCI slab, on ebay you can not list the grade in title, so would it bring full 64 value there or would people be nervous. Do you think ebay would have enough educated bidders that this would get to where it should be at value wise. How would you sell it, if it was your coin? Just something I had been thinking of. shadowtrooper78 Pillar of the Community United States 1370 Posts	Posted 05/20/2015 1:21 pm I buy these slabs also, tend to find the pricing grouped together no matter if its a gold slab or the old green ones. Most dealers I know look at PCI as a damaged brand, which is good for me when they have PCI in their inventory. I don't believe there is a way to really bump up the sales price on something like this less getting it slabbed by an NGC or PCGS...perhaps ANACS. I currently have about 2 PCGS boxes full of these old PCI holders, each one would either cross or gain a point or two based on todays standards. Report this Post to the Staff
