My 20th Century Type Set is in a U.S. Mint Album, made by H.E. Harris back in 2001. It accommodates 41 different coins from the 20th century, and here's how I filled them:

Cents (6): 1909 Indian Head, 1909 VDB Lincoln, 1947 Lincoln, 1943 Lincoln, 1965 Lincoln, 1992 Lincoln
Nickels (6): 1905 Liberty Head, 1913 T1 Buffalo, 1937 Buffalo, 1940 Jefferson, 1943-D Jefferson, 1967 Jefferson (with FS below the bust)
Dimes (4): 1915 Barber, 1934 Mercury, 1964 Roosevelt, 1975 Roosevelt
Quarters (8): 1914 Barber, 1917 SLQ T1, 1929 SLQ, 1939 Washington, Bicentennial Clad, Bicentennial Silver, 1970-D Washington, 2002-P Mississippi
Halves (8): 1912-D Barber, 1943 Walker, 1951 Franklin, 1964 Kennedy, 1966 Kennedy, Bicentennial Clad, Bicentennial Silver, 1987-D Kennedy
Dollars (9): 1902-O Morgan, 1922 Peace, 1972-S Silver Ike, 1978 Ike, Bicentennial Ike T1, Bicentennial Ike T2, Bicentennial Silver Ike, 1981-S Anthony, 2000-P Sacagawea

I have a Capital Plastics 20th Century type set holder, #408 B, with the following 36 coins:
1902 Indian cent
1932 Lincoln Cent 1909-58
1909 VDB Lincoln Cent 1909 VDB
1943-S Lincoln Cent Steel 1943
1945-S Lincoln Cent shell case 1944-45
1970 Lincoln Cent, Memorial 1959-82
1986-D Lincoln Cent, zinc 1982-
1911 Liberty head nickel
1913 Indian head nickel Type 1
1917 Indian head nickel Type 2
1939-D Jefferson nickel 1938-65
1945-S Jefferson nickel 1942-45 silver
1970-D Jefferson nickel Schlag initials
1910 Liberty head dime
1916 Winged Liberty head dime
1952 Roosevelt dime 1946-64
1979-D Roosevelt dime 1965-

1920 Liberty Standing quarter Type 2
1942-S Washington quarter 1932-64
1970 Washington quarter clad
1976-S Washington quarter Bicentennial
1901 Liberty head half dollar
1934 Liberty Walking half dollar
1955 Franklin half dollar
1964 Kennedy half dollar 1964
1970-D Kennedy half dollar 1965-70
1979 Kennedy half dollar clad
1976-S Kennedy half dollar Bicentennial
1903 Liberty head dollar

1973 Eisenhower dollar clad
1974-S Eisenhower dollar 40% silver
1976-S Type 1 Eisenhower dollar Bicentennial
1979-D Susan B. Anthony dollar

This set is just two coins short of having all of the coin types struck from 1901 to 2000. It is missing holes for an example of the State Quarter 1999-2000 and the 2000 Sacagawea dollar.

I have another that does not have as many types an older version of the BVD-60 with 32 coins.

And I have gone through my coins and am going to fill this holder next, a #490 with 38 coins (8 of which are gold). I need to acquire the Type 1 & 2 Liberty Standing quarters, the Liberty head half dollar, the gold Indian head quarter, half, and eagle, Liberty head and St. Gaudens double eagles. I will place the coins in when I have them all. I just got the gold Liberty head quarter, half and eagle last week. It's going to quite a while yet before this one will be done. It's going to look awesome with the bottom layered in yellow.

I just love how Capital Plastics laid out these older holders compared to the ones they make now. Who needs five 1999 State Quarters anyway? If they put all five 1999 quarters because they are different then they need to add the five for 2000. All you need is a single hole for the series as a type and let the collector choose which one they want.

Beautiful sets and presentation, Gyrene! Do like those capital holders - what are the approximate dimensions? I could see storage being an issue.

The top one, #408 B is 12x12 inches, the BVD-60 is 8x14 inches and the #490 is 10x12.

If you only use safe deposit boxes at a bank size can be an issue. If you have a safe at home it is not as they can be stored in it in a number of ways. I have a shelving unit that fits inside quite nicely I bought at a garage sale, put a front door on it with a piano hinge at the top with two locks at the bottom and it just fits in the safe. Inside it is 14.5" deep so it easily will store any of the Capital Plastics holders I might use. I was using it for storage of important documents and such before I got back into collecting coins again then it got to the point I needed something more secure so I bought a safe to put it in.

The black box, book, and 3 ring binder on the left of the top shelf is all of my Marine Corps documents, insignia and other non coin related items.

The white box has 1964 and earlier proof sets in their original envelopes. All of the flat boxes are Capital Plastics holders labeled with what is inside. The ones not having their box I made a cloth cover for. The red 2x2 box contains the coins destined for the #490 holder. I have one Dansco folder for 1935-47 Walking Liberty half dollars copyrighted 1952 in a zip lock bag that is six coins short of being filled with average circulated halves pulled out 90% silver bins, the 1938-D is already in it. I couldn't see putting any higher grades in it.

All neat and tidy with everything easy to get to any time I want.
