I do a lot of selling as well as buying, so basically I can spend whatever is in this separate account. If I see something I really want and don't have enough money, I'll buy it on a credit card and try to raise the money by the time it's due.

No budget for me. I make a coin purchase, on average, every three days.

I'm more impulsive than anything. I have zero debt so I guess it's ok :-)

No debt? I am so jealous!
Three more years on the mortgage for us....(sigh).
I do not have a coin budget. I did for the past few years but now I buy what I want -- I just find I want far less than I used to.

I don't really have a coin budget either...I buy what I want within reason. All bills, college savings (for kids), 401k/TSP contributions, vacation/christmas money comes out first.
I'm very impulsive as well and I want to get better about this so I am thinking about setting a coin budget. This will force me to become more selective....hopefully!

I have a budget of $300 per month. If I want to buy more than the $300, I sell off from my existing collection. Making the choice of what coins to sell can be difficult, but it keeps my collection fresh and with coins that I really want to keep.

I have hit the end of disposable income ever since I put my two toddlers in to day care. I must sell from my collection on ebay if I want to buy a coin. Even it is very restrictive it gives me abundant pleasure when I buy a new coin mostly off auction sites. It seems I have spend my disposable income on some coins in not so good condition. So I find it hard to break even selling on ebay. Its a good lesson for me and I do not buy now willy nilly every coin I see on ebay.

Yes, I do have a monthly budget but like the Federal Government I'm always in the Red.

Yeah, after buying coins, I see what's left over for monthly expenses.

Yes. I have a monthly amount allocated to coins or other collectables that might catch my eye. I will admit that I have some difficulty sticking to that budget when something extra nice surfaces at the local LCS or another venue.

Since I rob banks for a job, so much spending on coins depends on how many banks I rob and how much I get away with. And at times I take all my loot from the fobberies in coins and look through them all for ones I need. The rest of the coins all go into those kettles for the Salvation Army. In reality, no real amount for coins. Whatever I find, I buy.
