This has been sitting in a box for a while now, having no clue the 004 sells for more then the 001. Markers seem to match up. Need your help on this one.

You seem to have the markers. You must first match the variety though. Sorry, but your pictures are not clear enough for me.

The disturbance under the 2 in the field under the date looks like a match to coppercoins example:

Thanks coop. I did not even see that. I'll attempt some better photos of the in God we trust. Anyone have an idea of a grade with the photos I included. Lastly am I correct in my assumption that this is a several hundred dollar coin? More photos to come....

I have a few nice books here Chronoswiss, they seem to agree on two things, grading is an art, and it depends on who is doing the grading. They differ on the guide lines. In my less than professional opinion and assuming the steps were not struck well to begin with, I say it is EF-40. I think it is worth around $350.00.

A lot better job on the second images. I appreciate the images with the light falling over the doubling and instead of drowning the doubling that is common for those trying to show and drown the area of the doubling. Light and shadows make lot better images. Great Job!

Thanks everyone for the help. I guess I'll wait for ANACS to offer one of those insider specials down the road.

For a variety like this, I would send it to PCGS to get a more desirable slab for your coin. (if you intend to sell it)

You should send it off and get it protected. I'd like to know how it grades.

Die Disturbance? The die has a crunch on it or something? If it's incuse on the coin, it's raised on the die. Any idea how that could happen? Clash?
