I'm not to sure about the history of this item, but I saw it and knew I needed it.

Basically it's a long sheet of paper with a picture representation of what a coin in a specific grade should look like. It has indian head and wheat cents. V, buffalo, and Jefferson nickels. Barber, mercury, and Roosevelt dimes. Barber, standing liberty, and Washington quarters.

What was really interesting was the ad for the scan-o-matic machine.

Now I'm gonna have to find one to add to my collection.

I found it at a antique shop. It was sitting on a bottom shelf looking neglected so I had to bring it home. With the sale going on today I think I spent about $10 for it.
Rest in Peace

Wow! What a fun thing to find. And at $10 -- too good to pass up. You've got tool, the paper, and the BOX.

What's more, it looks practically new.

Amazing.

Thanks for posting this.

One showed up on ebay, oh, maybe a year ago - and we had a thread about it then which is why I remember it.

And I bought it. (and it is still in the unopened package from the ebay shipment.)

When I started collecting in the mid 60s that was one of the first things I got.
I have no idea what happened to it. Wish I still had it.

I like it! Nice grab for $10. I would have probably done the same.
