Just out of curiosity :) What's the most expensive Classic coin you've purchased? Mine was a 1912 Indian Quarter Eagle. I was 16 at the time. My mom threw a fit, but my dad was the collector in the family so I managed to grab a hold of it I was effectively banned from buying any coins for about a year after by my mom. What about all you ancient collectors out there

Don't have a picture, but as far most expensive thus far for the 7070, an 1838 Capped Bust quarter in approx. VF 25 from one of the members here :)

Mine is a tie between my MS64DMPL 1880-S Morgan with green bean, and a 1942/1 Mercury dime. Bought the dime raw and submitted to ANACS and it graded VF30. However, my most valuable coin is a 1916 D Mercury in Ag3. I paid about 3.00 for this one before grading fees.

Hm maybe my 1938 d walker or my 1921 walker. I can't say I paid that much for them seeing I paid far less then a expensive video game for them apiece haha. Still a lot more then the junk silver coins I usually buy.

I don't see it as spending money... If you spent a large amount of money on consumables the money is gone. If you buy a gold coin (and you buy it correctly) you are either making money (on paper if you bought it for less than it is worth) or you are converting your money to gold coin and paying a small premium as way of a fee to the broker of said item.
That is to say you might not have the money but you have still got the wealth. Presumably if you were 16 you had earned this money delivering newspapers or something and I think I would have been proud of you earning the money and making a sound investment with it.

Numisma I found it at an antique store in a box of silver dimes. The original thread is here: https://goccf.com/t/138316As for the pcgs/ngc question, I have no intentions of selling it and just wanted to ensure it was authentic. I figured ANACs would be the cheapest and I would know for sure.

Small Fortune...I would say that a MS Indian quarter eagle at 16 years old was a very smart buy. I wish I would have had silver and gold on my mind at 16 years old!.
