Very nice, no activity on that obverse. It does show signs of a weaker strike on the reverse, which is common for these.
Great coin congrats!!

Cheers, Bill

Very nice, I would go with MS64, little hard to tell because of how nice and bright it is, cannot really see any marks.

I will add a few more pics to "maybe" clarify that 60 grade above..I'll try to get close-ups of the negative marks....but I do respect all opinions...

..but if this is a 60 (to you)...I really, really want to see some of your 63,..64..and 65's..here..

That's where I was hoping this would end up...Thanks..!!

Maybe a 4 or a 5..still one of my special ones.. I promised myself to never add the old embossed cert grade here on CCF. Although they still had it as a high grade MS anyway..

The weakness in the center reverse is very frosty and without contacts and also well documented for this issue as mentioned above...more pics to follow soon..

When your trying to grade from pictures your going to get a wider gap in grades then what it would be if everyone graded with coin in hand.

I was also hoping someone would step in and give an explanation for the obverse rim.

Cheers, Bill

Distortion of the plastic flip is my guess.

Here are a few more critical pics in the bright sun..

The obv is now seen better and with a heavy frosting on the bust. Some marks are in the plastic..but the bright reflective ones are on the obverse surface. There is a dull soft fine mark coming across the ear and down into the right field.

There's a coin ding in the lower lip and neck contacts are showing better. ..A few ticks in both fields also..

Nice d/c's showing on both sides.

I'll bring this coin to the varieties forum also to ask about interesting details now showing in the date and letters.

Thanks for any grades added here..

Bill,

Maybe it's a slightly off-center strike which leaves a strong raised rim on the left,

..but with the denticles going completely into the collar on the right side of the obverse.

The 50 c experts would certainly have a proper explanation for that rim.
