Grabbed a total of 100 rolls from 4 different banks today. An assortment of customer wrapped, Brinks and Strings. Searched through 60 rolls and found 2 Buffalo (1937 & a failed nic a date attempt) & 3 War Nickels! Quite a few pre 1960 but no key or hard to find dates.

Now about the other 40 rolls. All are solid rolls of Westward Journey nickels.

NF Sring & Sons
(19) 2004P Keelboat
(5) 2004P head/head (probably keelboat)
(5) 2005P Buffalo

US Mint wrappers
(2) 2005P Buffalo
(3) 2005D Buffalo
(3) 2006P Return to Monticello
(3) 2006D Return to Monticello

My dilemma is what I should do with them. I'll probably save the Mint wrapped and a couple of rolls of the others. Is there much demand anymore for these things? Or should I open them and check for anything unusual and run them through the Coinstar?

Well, there's a thread in the WTB section for Mint wrapped or OBW Bison nickels.

Is there much demand for them on ebay? Are they fed wrapped or mint wrapped?

A quick search on ebay shows there is a little demand for the Buffalos. I'll probably keep the mint rolls since somebody paid a premium for them at one time and a couple rolls of the others.

Todays 60 odd rolls gathered from 5 different banks produced far fewer goodies than I've been getting. Only 1 War Nickel and around 20 pre 1959's with no hard to find dates.

ratman,

Same thing happened to me a few weeks back; ended up with 60 or so rolls of various Mint wrapped Westward Journey nickels. I tried selling some of them on ebay with little luck. Opened the rest; nothing any good. To the coin counter they went!

Did a box tonight (50 rolls) with the following results:

18 - Pre-60's
1 - war (43S, not included on above count)
2 - Canadian nickels (84, 89)
1 - Singapore 20 cent (86)

Also, found a BU 1946 to replace my worn one in my book. Full steps and very little wear on high points.

49 rolls from 3 different banks. Customer wrapped rolls were pretty bad, but the 20 brinks rolls yielded 3 War Nickels

40 rolls from 2 different banks yielded 12 pre 1960 with nothing worthy to mention. My bank that ordered some nickels for me hasn't gotten them in yet. I'm bummed because the Brinks rolls have been giving up Buffalos and War Nickels.

Brinks rolls have always been better to me. It is an unusual box that does not yield at least one Warnickel.
