Tonight's box was the kind that restores my drive in box searching:

1950p
1943P
1945P
1919p buffalo
1934p buffalo

This was our first ever 1934p buffalo, and only our second ever 1934 buffalo of any mint mark.

Do you mean a 34, or just a buffalo in general?

I got a 42-D a while back, one of my first decent dates. I'm finally going to get around to the Jefferson Dansco- my brother asked me what I wanted for Christmas, so I sent him a link to it on Amazon.

Numisna,

What I just found was a 1934p buffalo. We had one 1934d buffalo from some time ago. Those are the only two 1934 buffalos out of over 150 buffalos that we have found in box searching.

Quite odd. I would expect more for a relatively common date such as 1934.

I think that the 34 may not be a crazy find, but the 34D sure is. Lower mintage, the design/date prone to wear, and the fact that they look different would add up to higher obsolescence than say a comparable Jefferson date/mintage. I was a little surprised that the 1935 I found two boxes ago was a hole filler. Then again, I have a better shot of finding a hole filler than not in my Buffalo folder.

I finished my 13th box today. The streak is finally over - no new finds. It had to end at some point. I did get an upgraded 1943 P in the first roll, and a couple of other upgrades. Now I guess I'll be in the long silent march between finds...
