foundinrolls Pillar of the Community United States 3507 Posts	Posted 02/03/2008 12:09 am There are collectors that specifically look for coins like this. Alloy issues were a problem. The collectors of these actually have a name for these. Wood grain cents. This is a nice one. I've seen them on cents dated up to about 1921. I wish I knew they were interesting to people. I would have weeded them out and sold them in lots. I've been doing well selling small lots of similar coins (toned, minor errors, etc.) You don't make a ton on them, but certainly a lot more than the "by the pound" lots.
