Hey everyone. It is nice to have joined the community. I hope to be a great addition here and find plenty of helpful information. Just so you know, I love to metal detect and come across lots of coins. Sometimes I cannot identify such coins. Some of them, I have set back for a number of years now without an answer. Here I will attach a picture to a couple of them that I can get a hold of right now.... The coin below weighs 1.15 or 1.16 grams and it is in a penny sized cardboard flip. It is also very thin. I would assume it is a Spanish Half Reale, but the weight doesn't seem right. I have no idea about the one below except to say it is about the same size as a quarter. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Edited by Ninji Digger 01/18/2016 12:59 am

The second one looks like a token or medal rather than a coin.

First one..don't know. Second one looks to have a wreath on the reverse and a bust right figure obverse.

Yes, I saw the wreath on the second and the person-like figure on the obverse. Looks to be facing the 3:00, possibly a crown on him and some lettering going up the left side. That's what I see, but I don't know what it is. Depending on whether the round is brittle or not, you could put it in some acetone and maybe bringing the letters out. What geographic area did you pick these up?

Can't help with the ID. But you should flatten the sta[ples to prevent scratching of other coins when you store them. These are called parallel pliers, but any will do. These come with or with out teeth ribs on the jaws. and are used for jewelry and model building.

Can you please take pictures outside of the 2x2s? It looks to me like we might be able to read some text on the second one. Maybe a washington token?

The first coin has been holed, is well worn, and has been dinted so many times that neither the weight nor any visible features are likely to be useful in identifying it.
Second item does seem to be a medla of some kind. An in-focus picture outside of the 2x2 might help read the obverse legend.

The second looks like it might be an Andrew Jackson presidential campaign medal - AJACK 1824-1. Here's a link to one on CCF: https://goccf.com/t/238326

Good job, mackwork, I think it's about 90% sure. Letters match, figures match, and wreath matches. I'm anxious to see it out of the flip.

Thanks. I collect presidential campaign tokens/medals from the 1800's and it looked very familiar when I first saw it. The 1824 Jackson tokens are considered to be first actual presidential campaign tokens that were issued.

Why the holes? Both our ID candidate and the one on your link have holes at the top.

They were typically issued with holes - to be suspended/hung from clothing. This is true of most of the campaign issues.

You guys really want me to take it out of the holder after all that hard work stapling it? Sigh.. Okay! I am so glad machwork made a positive identification. This thing was screaming old. I will try to post pics of it outside of the holder later when I have more time. Thanks. Edit: Here are the pics...
