Sometimes being a coin collector is a lot of work.

I think I have said before, when you work at a coin shop,
maybe it is not a good thing to go to other coin shops
on your day off.

So today I was offered a group ASE NGC slabs.
Almost a full set, from 1987 - 2010.
Missing the 1986, 1994 and 1996.
But there was two 2009 and a 2006 W.

I went in just because I was looking for a 2006 to finish
one of my Dansco's. I was offered a good price, so I had
to ask ...how much for all of them ...

They made me a offer I could not refuse.

I forgot to get into the questions.
I really did not need these, because I have my eye
on a $2.50 gold at another shop. And I have at least
doubles of each date.

So .. .
what do most think is the best way to sell these?
As a group?
One by One?
ebay?
Not sure if there would be any interest on CCF.

you find the most amazing deals! One by one would be a lot of work.

I would try a group sale first. Or a trade to another shop, or gold coin?

Wonderful purchase. Those ASE collectors who like certified like NGC. As long as you don't mind the work ebay individual sales (even after fees) will net you the best prices.

Be SURE and mention any milk spots as you'll get returns if you miss those darned milkies.

Thanks for the replies.

Moxking, they are all graded MS 69. But I did notice a few
of them have a some milk spots.

I did check out ebay and saw these were selling $30+ each.

It was a toss up buying these slabbed ones and there was
a Dansco with about the same amount of coins. The coins
in the Dansco were really nice.. but I have two Dansco sets.

Not really sure what I want to do with them .. with them
sitting on the table all day .. they are starting to grow
on me.

If you call THAT "work", I wanna be your employee. Where do I sign up?

I don't collect slabs otherwise I'd be a buyer for those.

GR...Thanks for posting this. I have to laugh because it reminds me of me. Can't tell you how many times I walk in a store or search online for "this" but end up purchasing "that" instead. Glad to know I am not the only one!!

They do look like a very nice group of silver eagles.

I saw just this morning that JM Bullion sells a full set of 30 NGC MS69 slabs for about $1400.

I know your right Muddler ... but it is very hard for me to do

When I first bought them I thought wow that is a good price.
I should be able to flip them and put the profit into coins
I need.

Now I am starting to like them ..

So this morning I sorted though my collection finding duplicates
to sell. First pass I think I have enough to cover this purchase.

But there is still a $2.50 gold and a Trade dollar I really want.

It really is never ending.

Thanks for posting that

It makes me feel better about this purchase.

I think I can put the set together for half that.

So now you will need the three missing and add each year after in NGC 69.
I see these holes in the set burning in your brain.

Great Looking Eagles.... Remember, Just because any coin is slabbed does not mean it is what the label states. This is just My opinion but I believe You or any other collector can look at a slabbed coin, and locate problems, even a MS-70. Not all, but far too many...
