those marks look like glue. Hopefully, they were only used as a base to set the ASE on, but you can see a little of the "glue" or maybe a holder tab at 12 o'clock on the obverse. I seriously hope the coin is not actually glued in place.

I think it's just scratches on the holder.

They look too defined for scratches. Maybe notches that the coin rests on in the slab

Now I am worried that the coin will turn out fake Also, doesn't the holder guarantees a real genuine coin?

I think the marks are just the holder.
Decent priced purchased. Shopping around may have gotten it cheaper.
Are you putting a set together?

I don't have any issues that would make me think the ASE is not genuine but it has zip to do with the holder which is a generic slab and not one from a known grading company.

I also feel it is a real ASE. For the holder, I don't think it is a U.S. mint holder. To me it looks like the stiff plastic holders, similar to the ones Littleton sells their ASE's in.

I do see slabbed ASE's selling for $30+ but have not looked at raw older ASE's. I just passed on a almost complete ASEalbum, where I could have purchased the coins at less than $20 each ... not just me, anyone who walked into the shop. They did pull some of the harder dates. Nice used Dansco's can be bought $8 to $15 .. when they have them. Just mentioned this .. in hopes to give you a reference ..

price is fine, slab generic. If you are popping it out, I see no problem at all.

Now you have me curious ... What area of the country is that coin shop in? I help out at two different coin shops, right now we only pull a few dates to sell for a premium. The rest sell for the same as other ASE's ...$18 to $19 range. I am always curious what other shops are charging.

I live in Illinois. The dealer is at a flea market (yes, he is reputable) and grades EVERY coins he has. I think that is why he charges so much.
