I was into my local antique store and found this 1974 Kennedy half.
It has some serious Die Deterioration. The flow lines in the fields are
significant. We had something similar called a starburst error on
some Canadian Coins not sure if this is the same thing. The lines
are radial. The IN GOD WE TRUST areas seem most affected, but the
whole coin on both obverse and reverse displays the same grooves and
legend features. Take a look at the photos, I appreciate any and all
comments.

Looks like a very late die state to me.

Also, something bad happened to the eagle's neck. Not sure if that's an error or damage.

Thanks kindly Buddy and Earle42 for the error term, very late
die state. I see the eagles neck area has a jagged line
where the bald head is detailed.

Certainly a VLDS. Worth saving as a large example of the type.

Nice to see the members on the site are getting a very good idea of die states of coins and the more value they are in earlier die states and less for the VLDS ones.
Rest in Peace

Cheers Coop and Moxking;
VLDS - Very Late Die State. Excellent, thanks for this
information. Will keep as a good reference.
