Wow, it really brings out the original mint luster! I cant believe I was settling for that yucky EF-35 Wow brown piece of crap when I could've simply dipped it and gotten this AWESOME original mint red MS+++++ coin! What do you guys think? I've included some before and after photos... this is a miracle!

That's the sort of thread that makes a collector lose their lunch upon first look.

Seriously, though, most of the older members here are going to see your handle and the date and realize that it's a joke and you know better than that. However, someone new may be perusing the site and not bother to click on the topic, and then clean their coins.

Could a mod perhaps add something to the title to mitigate the risk of this possibility?

If you would have taken a buffing wheel to it, you'd have an MS-67 or better, no doubt about it. Everyone knows the really expensive coins have been doctored, thusly, a doctored coin is expensive.

Why did you do THAT. You actually ruined the coin no doubt about that.

Wire brush would make more shine. Also, you might want to consider soaking it in nitric acid for a bit to get rid of the surface dings. In just about a minute or so the acid would east away enough of the surface to get to below the level of those dings. Do it outside though, the resulting gas and vapors are not good.

I was worried when I saw the title, but when I saw who posted it I realized it was an April Fool's joke. I just pulled one in the nickel hunting thread.

I was about to say. I did laugh though. Cleaning coins is a No-No.
