Mine arrived yesterday, and I'm thinking of sending it back. There's garbage inside the lens of the Presidential dollars and it also looks like the Lincoln Cent has a ding. In all my years of buying silver proof sets form the mint, I've never received one like this. The quarters and Kennedy half also look extra beautiful and crisp this year for some reason...... *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Mine arrived last week. No problems that I could see upon a quick examination, but I buy them as a gift for my son and don't really go over them all that carefully.

Bought mine straight from the Denver Mint gift shop. I've not noticed any problems with the coins.

Mine were in good shape. That has not always been true.

I ordered the 2015 and the 2016 with my gold Mercury.
The 2016 has a large stain on the obverse of one of the quarters. The 2015 has a spot on the reverse of the dime. I will be calling them on Monday to exchanage them.

A few weeks ago I was at a coin show where the US Mint was setup. I looked at five proof sets. Every one of them had debris inside the lens with the Presidential dollars. I didn't buy a single one because of this. I need five each of the regular and silver proof sets. I ordered ten of each and they arrived earlier this week. I'll look them over this weekend and only keep the best five of each. It's pretty sad that we have to do QC for the mint. It's a hassle, but I will ultimately end up with sets that I'm happy with.

Haven't ordered mine yet. Will probably bundle an order with the Cumberland Gap 5-oz and the Mint Proof Sets in a few days when the 5-oz is released.
We all want perfect products but debris isn't that big of a deal -- you can open the lenses and carefully blow them out (assuming the debris hasn't damaged the coins somehow). Spots, scratches, and other marks on the other hand...

Received my Silver Proof Set in the mail today. The lens with the quarters has these weird bubbles I can't tell if they are some kind of liquid, grease or air but they definitely move and change. I am new to the Hobby and have not been collecting these long but have not seen something like this before. Not sure if I should send it back or not. I have never sent anything back to the mint before, do they pay the return shipping for defects like this? Sorry the picture isn't very good. Edit: the 4 bubble areas arent touching the coins yet... just worried about how it will effect these silver quarters over time.

MerchantBen, I noticed the same thing on one of the silver proof sets that I kept. The odd thing is that if I press on the area, it goes away. When it goes away, I can't see any liquid anywhere. I can also press in another area and make a bubble appear. I'm thinking that it's just plastic to plastic contact and nothing to worry about, but I can't say that for sure. I'm not going to worry about it though.
In regard to returning to the mint, yes you can get them to pay return shipping. However, they are unreliable and it often takes multiple calls and several days. They key is to tell them the product was damaged, but not in transit. If you say that it was damaged in transit or is just poor quality, they won't send you a shipping label. For damaged prior to shipping, they will. To me, poor quality and damaged at the mint greatly overlap, but most of the people working at the mint call center are not coin people and just have the rules they have to go by. I was so disappointed with the quality of the proof sets that I received last year, that I just ordered twice as many as I needed this year. Over half had some sort of issue in one or more of the lenses. I kept the best and sent the others back at my expense. I did note on the return the problems. The largest problem was particles inside the lenses.

MerchantBen Yes, as Bret said...call them and tell them they were damaged prior to leaving the mint. That is an odd bubble. I haven't ordered mine yet but will be on the lookout. I haven't seen that before.

Mine showed up on Thursday. There are a few small issues with them but nothing worth returning them for. In the safe they go...

I have several silver proof sets and many of mine have that "bubble". I have just attributed it to the plastic that holds the coins coming in contact with the case. Personally I wouldn't worry about it but if it bothers you then there is nothing wrong with returning it and getting a new one.
