You know all those ebay auctions and print ads that offer "average circulated" Barber coins? In my experience, those coins generally look a lot like this one: It's pretty easy to grade circulated Barber coins. See if you agree with the PCGS opinion!

AG3. Without full perimeter lettering on the reverse, it can't be a G4 (in my opinion). Had this coin been a common date, I think PCGS might have taken it down to FR2 because of the reverse.

Jaobler- I am with the concensus that it is an AG-3.
Nohope- The 2nd one of yours is pretty close to having a full rim on the back. I would be tempted to call that one G-4, who knows how PCGS would feel though!

Hey Richard, I think your second one has a good shot at G4. The lettering is complete even though there is light wear into the reverse rim. Also, I see an L and a Y. You might even eke out a G6.

nohope, the first picture shows a rim nick that I'm sure PCGS would BB. Jaobler's is AG3, nohope's first one is FR2 (I netgraded the rim nick), and the other one might be G6.

As I said, these are easy to grade! The obverse is a solid G-04 and the reverse is AG-03 at best, possibly only FR-02. So, PCGS took the average and came up with: NoHope, your coins I think would grade G-04 and G-06, respectively. PCGS might body-bag the first coin due to edge dings, although at the G-04 level they should be tolerant of minor circulation damage. It is very common for Barber coins to wear faster on the reverse than the obverse. A coin like mine (good obverse, AG or worse reverse) is probably more common than one which has worn evenly on both sides. I like the Barbers!

Im going to go with "G" on the first coin as it meets the general criteria: "Heavily worn; design and legend visible but faint in spots. On some coins, full rims are not required for this grade. You must be able to read the date and mint mark"
The criteria for AG includes that parts of the date and legend are worn smooth.
