Looks like PSD from the edge of another coin.

Maybe the reeding of a half dollar with some mass behind it? Or a kid with a fork.

Is that some kind of doubling on the first part of liberty? Otherwise, the coin is remarkably clean.

Thanks guys. Are the terms PSD & PMD interchangeable? Is there a significance to using one instead of the other?

PMD or post mint damage is damage a coin suffered after it left the mint. PSD or post strike damage is damage that occurred before the coin left the mint.

I hope there interchangeable. I have enough trouble figuring out if it PSD, much less whether someone stepped on it before it left the mint or after.

for the most part, they are interchangeable, as in they both do not add any premium, and would devalue a key date coin.

PMD is the original term, intended to mean damage after the strike regardless if it was at the mint or not. The name itself turned out to be confusing as many people (like Dustin) take it to be after the coin left the mint. Thus PSD. PSD is slowly catching on.
