If found, it would be confiscated by the government.

Oh please, please, please let this be true. I saw the article on my lunch break today, and I got super excited. Something tells me this is too good to be true, though. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

CoinWeek also has an article

http://www.coinweek.com/recent-arti...rgan-dollar/

How does something as groundbreaking as this stay a secret for such a long time?

Guys, this is NO JOKE. It has been in government hands since day 1 and MANY reputable big names in numismatics are confirming and saying this the real deal. More to come but it looks like we have a new uber coin

I am with Paralyse on this one as it appears to be a marketing hype to sell copies of Bowers new silver dollar book as on September 27th for $19.95, you can get the real story.

So I have done some quick research and have found that several prominent and respected people have seen it. It is now and always has been in government hands.

What I think,
It is most likely the one and only 'coin' of this date. As such it would be listed as a pattern and would fall under the laws concerning modern paterns and will always remain in government hands.

With luck it will wind up in the National Collection and on display some time in my lifetime.
