You might want to look these up on Heritage or ebay sold item search. They are very cool! Great finds!

These can often be worth a couple hundred dollars, but sometimes thousands of dollars. There are thousands of banks that issued notes with their local town name; so there is an interesting collectors base of people who focus on a town, a region, a state, or the series in general. Some specific towns / banks are incredibly rare with just a handful of known notes, while others may be "common" such there are still few hundred floating around. And rarity / value might not always correlate depending on demand.

Watching football, kinda bored, so I'm looking these up on Heritage out of my own curiosity:

Union Nation Bank of Carnegie, PA - This might be very rare, Heritage only has a couple noted sales and known examples. Last sale at Heritage was 01/2012 with the other in 2006. Your sample seems to be a comparatively high grade too. Could be a $1000+ note.

Citizens National Bank of Bluffton, OH - Heritage shows this to be another rare note with only three reported sales, none since 2012. Could be a $1000+ note.

National Bank of Fairmont, WV. Heritage has a handful of sales, but unfortunately not commanding high values.

National Bank of Weston, WV. Heritage has one sale in 2005, the notes show only around a dozen in the census. Could be worth several hundred dollars.

First National Bank of Reedy, WV - Heritage has one sale back in 2005, which went for over $6000. Seems to be VERY rare.

In summary, you might want to reach to a major auction house regarding this collection you found. It could be substantial. Was fun to look up!

I call this one of the better "found in the basement" finds in a long, long time!

Even in a down currency market right now these notes could bring you some good money!

Do your homework, know what they are worth and sell them on ebay and avoid the auction house fees and games.

Rarity SELLS, and you got rarity with most of these notes!

Good luck whatever you do with them!

WOW! Thank you everyone! I will have to do some more research and see what I can find. I had no idea these were so rare.

There are several other bills that were with these when I found them. If you'd like, I can snap some pictures and share.

Quoting "National Bank Notes" by Don C. Kelly: Sixth Edition.

Fairmont, W.V............$200.

Weston, W.V..............$750.

Reedy, W.V................$3000.

Carnegie, Pa.............$1500.

Bluffton, Oh...............$1500.

Personally, I think they would go higher.

Great Find!

Although this is well out of my field, here's my advise:
If you don't already have them, get some Mylar currency sleeves, and make sure they're the right size.
Take some good pictures of both sides of each note. You may want to experiment with scans and see what works for you.
Once you've read up and know enough about the notes, sell 'em on the Bay.

With National Bank Notes such as these rarity trumps condition any day of the week.

Serious National Bank note collectors are more than happy to accept a rare note with problems than a coin collector is to accept a rare coin with problems. The reason is because there are fewer notes available to select from. In some cases, only single specimens are known to the marketplace.

For a note collector you just have to take what you can get as waiting around for a "gem 67" to surface probably ain't gonna happen!

@John1:
Only one price given for all the banknotes; Their assuming average circulated condition.
