1900 Morgan Dollar For Grading, You Vs. PCGS "ogh"

paralyse Bedrock of the Community United States 12057 Posts	Posted 09/13/2016 9:04 pm This 1900 Philly-mint Morgan is in a PCGS "OGH" - The luster is deep, although there are a couple of nicks here and there. The strike is average+ with a very light touch of toning on the foremost hair curls. The variety is VAM 5B - The reverse has a die chip in the left wreath across from the I in UNITED. This is a slightly scarcer VAM ("R5"), but not likely to be of much interest outside of VAM collectors. How do you think PCGS graded her? My first impression was MS-65, but maybe because this is an OGH coin, it was graded more harshly at the time. As a result, I'm going to go out on a limb and say MS-64 even though it looks like a 65 coin to me (and definitely deserves this grade). Report this Post to the Staff
