Ok sorry for being unable to upload an image (doing this from my phone) but I came across a 1990 D Roosevelt dime that has a solid edging (no grooves on the side) can anyone shed some light?

Sorry, without a picture we can only guess: a Dryer Coin or someone ground them away.
Do you have a weight and measurements of its size?

great pictures, which points to it being a Dryer Coin.

Thank you very much, I work at a convience store in a pretty shotty town with a bad drug problem, I get all sorts of half dollars, gold dollars, and old bills all the time from tweekers. If I have any more questions ill gladly put them on this site!

Rakes6609. Stick with us even if you don't have questions. Do you get coins that are not typically circulated any more? Like Franklin halves or Mercury dimes? Or bills with red or blue seals? If you do, either swap them out with your own coins (so you can't be accused of stealing) or take pictures and post them here. We love unusual coins and bills!

Thecollectible: The dime has very thick rim and is smaller than a regular US dime. Use the search engine with the words dryer coin for explanations.
