Saw this in a bag in my grandads attic, really old coin and I personally think this is a george II farthing coin from my own research, but thought I'd ask on this forum for some help, please comment if you know what it is! thank you

If it has a diameter of 23 millimetres, then I think you are spot on with it being a George II farthing (although, if its diameter is 28 millimetres, it would be a half penny). The date is quite difficult to read, but if you can make out the last digit, it can most likely be determined. Maybe a three (so 1733)?

Ok to reign on your parade it isn't worth anything.I actually found a George 11 1/2d in my grandfathers shed many years ago.It has cost me a fortune since but a rewarding hobby.:-)

The monarchs on UK coins rotate from one to another. Since this starts with 17, faces left and of course matches George II we know it is George II.

He reigned from 1727 to 1760 but only issued 1/2d from 1729 to 1754. In hand you may be able to detect some details that allow you to narrow the date down.

In this condition it is not worth too much.....maybe a few dollars. Still fun to have found this in the attic!!

It is the first 'young' bust so take your pick of any date between 1729 and 1739 (though I do see a hint of 1731 or 1737) . Unfortunately, in this condition the value is zero.

My guess would be 1737, the last digit looks just like the second one.
It might be more obvious in hand though

...I should really post some photos of my 1717 farthing - it's in similar condition, but of course a lot rarer.

The last digit looks like a 7.
