Since many of you may be snowed in by the Pi Day Blizzard (on the east coast of the US), here's a one-day activity: post your pie coins, currency, tokens and medals. They can be appropriate tender from India, Pakistan or Burma, or civil war tokens, or even medals depicting the Greek symbol pi or scrumptious pies. Here's a start... 1956 Pakistani one pie (with die clash), atop a dime for size comparison. If you're confused about pi day then congratulations, you're probably not a nerd, but it is still worth a web search.

Macedon, AR drachm, 323-317BC, Sear GCV 6750 (reverse): Two pi's in "PHILIPPOY" on the reverse, although their shape is a bit different than on modern coins.

That's clever, Pepactonius! My daughter snarfs up my Greeks as fast as I can find them. Classics major. That'll be $3.14, please.

NoPoMoCo wins for the best topic idea of the year. Biedercoins wins for posting the best reply. (and a bonus prize for having presence of mind to use Ikes instead of some "lesser" dollar. )

Wouldn't do it any other way, jbuck. Got lazy when I should have been pulling Half Cents. I'm hoping there are more postings to come.

Yes, flag4's concept of pi possesses some irrationality , but I also like the drachm, which highlights the ancient origin of pi. Also glad to see the CWTs, which support pie bakers everywhere!

Hehe, I'm a nerd and can't help myself. 52Raymo has posted more than a unique coin-themed 19th century pie crimper. It's a tool to estimate the value of pi = the number of crimps around the pie edge divided by the number of crimps across the diameter.

Here's my Pi(e) token... with an amazing clash and die cracks. I don't think the die lasted to long after this one.
