My wife's late uncle was a coin collector. I never met him, as he passed ten years before I met my wife, but her aunt loves that I am a coin collector.

The last few weeks she has been clearing out her accumulation of old books and sending them to my wife (her library has grown quite a bit lately). In the past I have posted that she sends me coin-things from time to time, especially her change jars, so it was no surprise when she texted me last week about "these red coin books" that her husband had. "You want them?" "Absolutely!"

They arrived yesterday...

Here is the box. There is one Stamp book in there with nine Red Books. All of these are older than my oldest (1981). I only have four hardback (1981, 1985, 1993, 2000), while my newest (2007, 2009, 2013, and 2015) are all spiral. Anyway, my Red Book collection has more than doubled in size.

This is now my oldest Red Book. A sixth edition. 16 years before I was born.

Great additions. I sometimes use my first RedBook for mintage just so I can keep it well oiled. Pages are starting to fall out, though.

Great additions. I will have to get mine out and see what they are. I know I have some from the early 40s, 70s, and 80s. I also have, I believe, a 1947 (this is the year after the first issue right?).

Nice set, Tunnioc!

Anyone else want to share their selection?

I just sold my collection of Red Books. I got a dollar each for mostly 1990's issues. I did pay like $1.37 for about 7 books.

Good question. I have not had a chance to look thorough any of them yet. I only had time to get these photos and that was it. Maybe I will be able to dive in this weekend.

I think it was in 1963 or 1965.
