My first of many questions about silver eagles plus statements. Please correct me if so but do not tell me I'm stupid or need to go back to school. I had brain problems a few years ago and its hard for me to get across what I'm asking sometime. Here go's. The silver eagles that come out with no mint mark are always listed as bullion . Reason is they are not minted for circulation. Well the W mint mark and S mint mark are not mint for every day use. These are all collector coins to. I need to find a good place to buy these coins from the secondary market in 5 to 10 coin lots . The Bay is ok sometime but I have found a few places to get them cheaper in the past. I just read this ; The Professional Coin Grading Service is now able to identify where silver American Eagle bullion coins that are struck without mint marks originated. To do that, the coins must still be in the Mint-sealed boxes they came in in 2014-2017. While San Francisco struck 7,025,000 in 2014, 4,650,000 in 2016 and 3 million so far in 2017, Philadelphia struck 79,640 in 2015, 1,151,500 in 2016 and 1 million so far in 2017. West Point figures are 23,450,000 in 2014, 46,920,500 in 2015, 31,900,000 in 2016 and 5,425,000 so far in 2017. Will the 2015 Philadelphia coin now take on the prestige and price of a key date in the series? Who minted the earlier coins before 2014 ? my main thing here is where can I get the best deal on 2017 coins and the 2015 if there ?

Are you looking to stack bullion ASEs or just get one or two of each year for an album? I get my annual bullion ASEs from either my LCS (which charges anywhere from $3-4 over spot), or JM Bullion (online) and they charge less than that over spot. I just looked at their inventory and they have many different years to choose from, including the 2015. I assume other online bullion dealers will have similar inventory. FWIW, no ASE has ever been made with the intention of circulating. According to my notes, bullion ASEs were produced: 2014-2011: W and S 2010-2000: W only 1999-1986: ? (I'd have to do some research)

In my opinion this is no different than a first strike label, it's meaningless, looking at the coin you would never know. If it has no mint mark, it makes no difference were it came from, it's bullion. First strikes and slabbed bullion coins do sell but the premiums are not worth it to the end buyer.

Thanks CelticKnot , I buy up 5 to 10 coin / bullion at the beginning of each year . Then later in the year I may buy more . The reason I do not buy from the same dealer is I search for the better buy. Late last night I found some 2014 and 2015 for around 21 each. After searching my stash, I discovered that I have around 20 of the 2014. but found 5 of the 2015. I just moved and things are not in there right place just yet. Whats your thoughts on buying these bullion coins to save . Or should I look into more of the mint mark coins .

Continue as you have planned. Find the best dealer with the best price (keeping shipping costs in mind if any) and go with it. The bullion ASE's are a pure spot silver play and their value will reflect that. Minimal collector value added to the raw coins. The mint marked ASE's are a pricier collector item than, depending on origin and mintage, can have significant added collector value or none at all. I used to buy a couple of rolls of each bullion ASE issue when they were released but now have switched to a single roll of the 5 ounce silver ATB pucks. I also buy the collector versions as well.... Decide whether you want to invest in silver or collect ASE's...(and there are other less costly silver products if you are JUST investing in silver)

I collect only one or two bullion ASEs per year because there are many far-better options for scoring stack silver closer to spot. Personally, I go for 5- or 10-oz bars (NTR, Provident, Sunshine, etc.), depending on my budget at the time. Usually you can get those from JM Bullion (or other online dealers) for 60-80 cents per ounce over spot.

I only collect one of the bullion and proof for my dansco albums. I get my bullion pieces from my dealer for a few bucks over spot. I buy my proofs directly from the us mint. Considering the West Point mint is literally 20 mins away from where I live. Other silver Eagles that I do buy are strictly for bullion or to resell down the road.

To a bullion buyer where an ASE was minted would make to difference at all in price so carry on with shopping around to get the best price. I also just collect one of each year of the bullion coins and proofs for my album.

The 2015-(P) may have a small premium or a large one in the coming months and years. We'll have to wait and see how the market reacts to it both at first and in the long term

I'm guessing "8 oz coins" was a typo but wouldn't that be fun?
In general, the higher the cost over spot, the less bullion-y it is.
