Found these today in a "castoff" bin, paid $1 (US) apiece for them. Nothing special, the 1859 doesn't appear to be one of the more desirable variants, but I never see them in quite this grade at this price point. Colligo ergo sum

I don't know anything about those coins, but I would have paid the same without a second thought. They're great looking coins -- especially for their age. The 1886 looks like it's hardly ever been used.

very nice pickup :) at $1 a piece ($1.33), it doesn't get much better than that. You could probably get yourself 10-15$ for that 1884 and the 1886

Nice coins; excellent price. I see nothing of any great "variety" value, but the condition is wonderful for a buck. You can't do that here!

Quote: You could probably get yourself 10-15$ for that 1884 and the 1886 Canadian or US? Upon closer examination, that 1886 in particular is extremely nice. Overall brown obviously, but there are traces of original luster in some of the recesses, and no discernable high point wear - solid AU at worst. The gem of this group for sure.

I've just come across another small group of Victoria cents, not quite so nice as the first bunch (I'd judge these are VF-ish) but still decent enough given that by my calculation I paid only 50¢ (US) each for them on this occasion, and since there's an 1890-H in there, I'm really hard pressed to complain.

Yet another that turned up in the world coin "junk" bin yesterday. This one set me back 75¢ (US).
