Considering the rarity of this coin I would say a TPG would give it MS62 . Love the toning .

I don't think it quite makes MS. I'll go with AU58. Is a very nice and beautiful coin. If I had the means I would love to have it.

AU-58, hard to find a prettier coin.

I would say MS-65, no Full Head. I don't see a rub on the coin, only small marks.

Bill as I ,respect your assessment on coins , I can't see the shield ,rivets and breast of Eagle pulling a 65 . Can you tell us how you came to this grade . Were all 1916's struck on the weak side ?

The 1916 Standing Liberty quarters were no where nearly as sharply struck as the 1917-P Type 1 coins. The best ones were not as sharp as the average 1917-P.

This one is on the weak side, but I think it will pull a high grade. As for the rivets, you are expecting WAY too much. Very few Type II quaters, minted prior to 1925, have full rivets.

I once had a customer who thought that "Full Head" also met full rivets. He won't buy a full head piece that didn't have the rivets. I had to switch he away from a Standing Liberty quarter set because his expectations were too high.
