My grandfather passed away long before I was born. He had a massive coin collection, but unfortunately it was stolen by someone in the family. My mom told me she had one box of coins that were his that she had in storage before this happened. All are US Mint coins from 1967-1978'ish. Sentimentally this means a lot to me. My siblings aren't into coins so she gave them to me! I made a nice mix for each of them in case they change their mind in the future. I don't post much, but I do lurk and Jbucks love of Ikes was my first thought upon seeing how many Ikes are here. Total count is 14 "Brown" Ikes, 17 "Blue" Ikes, and two 1776-1976 sets. There's also some uncirculated mint set Ikes. Anyways, this is far from the more interesting stories posted on here, but I thought I would post anyways! Thanks for reading all! P.S. Sorry if pictures are bad, I'm still working on taking coin pictures and uploading pictures was a bit odd on this website.

to posting! Jump in, water's fine... Boy, that sure will get JBuck's blood flowing, won't it! That's almost a complete set of each Ike, if the Mint sets are '73's, those weren't issued for circulation. Sorry to hear @ stolen collection, by the looks of what you have, it must have really been something.

Hi Crazyb0,
Yes, from what I'm told he had some really cool old coins. I wish I could have seen some of them and met the man. From the stories I hear we seem to be very similar. Unfortunately, I just took a quick look and none are 1973 :( . Thanks for the reply!

Stolen by a family member . Now Doesn't that make your blood boil . I keep at least half of my collection out in the open because of storage space or lack of it . Yeah ,I'm more worried about family members visiting me than some creep breaking into my house and stealing my life long collection . But on the bright side ,glad to here you obtained some of your Grandfathers coins .

That is very impressive! Thank you for sharing the photos (which are not as bad as you think). I am glad that you were able to get those, especially since you appreciate their sentimental value. Sorry to hear someone absconded with the rest of the collection. Not cool at all.
