Hello everybody! Earlier today I visited the bank looking for pennies and half dollars. Unfortunately, they had neither, so I settled with nickels. The teller pulled out ten rolls of nickels and stated that they only had three machine wrapped rolls, and the rest were customer wrapped rolls. Usually I prefer bank wrapped because it is less likely that all the nice ones have been pulled out. Shortly after I decided to check for any interesting enders. Sure enough, there was a 1959 nickel on the end of the first roll. I opened the other side of the roll, and, to my delight, there was another old nickel (I do not remember the date)! I instantly began checking the ends of each roll and was shocked. Every single roll had an ender between 1939 and 1959! I took out several nickels from one of the rolls and they were all pre- 1959! So far, I have opened four of these rolls and I found many great coins, including many 1939s. However, I did not find a single 1938 or War Nickel, sadly. However, I would still consider this a jackpot! Also, I am relatively sure that the bank had more of these rolls! I am returning to the bank tomorrow morning to see if they do. *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Really hope you get some of the lower mintage ones. Of course look for the 5 key dates, 39P DDR, and I've found that the 55P, 58P, 47S, 49S AND 50P werem some of the harder to find ones for me on CRHing nickels...every blue moon a War Nickel would show up, haven't seen any tho for a while. If all you have, it may just be a collector's junk from roll finds. I always check those for RPMs and a few other error type too, sometimes other fellow missed 'em!

CrazybO really? I found a lot of 1955 and 1958 Philadelphia's, probably because we live close to there. I will let you know if I discover any more cool things on those nickels. Hopefully I will! Also, I will post pictures of the lamination error on a separate thread to determine value and authenticity. Btw sorry for making so many posts.

I have had no luck with any CWR yet. They have all been looked through. The only coin dumps I've found have been in MWRs probably dumped into coin counters at banks or supermarkets.

Bad news: the bank did have customer wrapped rolls, but they were all modern, except for a 1941, 1948, 1954. I will post photographs in a short while.

Holy Moly and Gazelda! Nice haul. Be sure to take a closer look now for doubled dies and varieties. Maybe a DDR 39 or a S over D in the bunch. Hurry back to the bank!
